Role Title: Product Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: Technology and Information 1) Role Overview We’re looking for a Product Manager to own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for a customer-facing digital product within our technology portfolio. You will translate business objectives and user needs into clear product outcomes, partner with engineering, design, data, and go-to-market teams, and deliver measurable value through iterative releases. Your work will directly influence revenue growth, user engagement, operational efficiency, and the long-term competitiveness of our platform. 2) Key Responsibilities - Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and success metrics aligned to company OKRs. - Build and maintain a prioritized, data-informed product roadmap; manage trade-offs across scope, timeline, and quality. - Author clear product requirements (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria informed by user research and analytics. - Lead cross-functional delivery with engineering and design from discovery through launch; run Agile rituals (backlog grooming, sprint planning, reviews). - Drive customer discovery—conduct interviews, usability tests, A/B tests—and synthesize insights into actionable decisions. - Partner with data/analytics to define instrumentation, dashboards, and experimentation plans; make decisions based on quantitative and qualitative signals. - Collaborate with GTM (marketing, sales, customer success) on positioning, packaging, documentation, and enablement for successful launches. - Monitor product performance and reliability; triage issues, manage incident priorities, and iterate for continuous improvement. - Build business cases and financial models to evaluate opportunities; present recommendations to leadership with clear rationale and ROI. - Ensure compliance, privacy, and security requirements are considered in solution design and delivery. - Manage stakeholders across functions, align on priorities, and communicate progress, risks, and dependencies. - Champion a customer-centric, outcomes-over-output culture within the product squad. 3) Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related). Equivalent experience considered. - 3–6 years of product management experience in technology or information services, with end-to-end ownership of a software product or major feature set. - Demonstrated experience working with Agile/Scrum development teams and shipping iterative releases. - Proficiency in creating PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria; skilled at backlog management and release planning. - Working knowledge of analytics and experimentation (defining funnels, A/B tests, basic statistical concepts) and translating insights into roadmap decisions. - Comfort reading and interpreting technical documentation and system diagrams; familiarity with APIs and data models. - Excellent written and verbal communication; strong executive presentation skills and stakeholder management. 4) Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree (MBA, MS in CS/IS) or formal product management certification (e.g., Pragmatic Institute, AIPMM). - Experience in B2B SaaS, data platforms, or enterprise software in the technology/information domain. - Background in growth, monetization, or pricing/packaging for SaaS products. - Exposure to machine learning-enabled features or AI-assisted user experiences. - Hands-on familiarity with SQL for self-serve analysis; comfort with BI dashboards and experimentation platforms. - Experience with accessibility standards, privacy/security-by-design, and compliance in regulated environments. 5) Tools & Platforms - Product/Design: Jira, Confluence, Trello or Asana, Figma or Sketch, Miro - Analytics/BI: Amplitude or Mixpanel, Google Analytics, Tableau or Looker; basic SQL - Experimentation: Optimizely, LaunchDarkly or feature flagging tools - Collaboration: Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 - Developer/Delivery: GitHub or GitLab workflows, API documentation tools (Postman, Swagger) 6) Soft Skills & Attributes - Customer-obsessed with strong product intuition and a bias for action. - Structured problem-solver who uses data and judgment to make pragmatic decisions. - Clear, concise communicator who can tailor messages for executives, engineers, and customers. - Influences without authority; builds trust across cross-functional teams. - Comfortable with ambiguity; thrives in a fast-paced, iterative environment. - Ownership mindset with high accountability and follow-through. 7) Performance Metrics / KPIs - Product adoption and engagement (e.g., activation, DAU/WAU/MAU, feature usage) - Business outcomes (e.g., revenue, conversion rate, retention/churn, LTV/CAC) - Delivery performance (e.g., roadmap throughput, on-time release rate, cycle time) - Product quality (e.g., defect rate, incident frequency/severity, NPS/CSAT) - Experiment velocity and win rate (A/B tests shipped and impact realized) - Stakeholder/customer satisfaction and enablement readiness at launch 8) Reporting Structure - Reports to: Director of Product Management (or Senior Product Leader) - Team: Individual contributor leading a cross-functional squad; may mentor associate PMs or interns. No direct reports initially. 9) Compensation - Salary Range (Full-time): $135,000–$175,000 annually, plus annual performance bonus and equity eligibility. This range reflects current market benchmarks for Product Managers with 3–6 years of experience in the New York City area, factoring hybrid work and company size typical of mid-market tech organizations.
